Visualizing Deployed EC2 Based Applications

The Cloud Information Center allows users to visualize any deployed EC2 instances regardless of account or region in one image. For example, if I have an application deployed on EC2 instances in Dev and Production environments and these are in separate accounts and regions, I can find them via the VPC tab, double-click them to add them to the AVB Structure Builder (along with any other resources, such as VPC, subnets, etc.) and then save that structure to be viewed at any time.

If I want to see the status of the structure, I simply load it into the AVB Structure Builder and visualize it. If I want to see the updated status of the EC2 instances in the structure, I would press the EC2 Live button and the visualization will be updated with live data, viewable if I hover my mouse over any EC2 instance.

This feature allows users to quickly view the current status of any EC2 instances as part of an application even if the app is deployed in Dev, UAT, Prod, etc. and these environments are in separate AWS Accounts. As the CIC only uses profile names when referencing accounts, no credentials are stored on disk.

Users can build a library of these images, each representing different aspects of their environment or different applications. These structures can also be imported and exported allowing different CIC users to view or update them, or the images can be shared, allowing non CIC users the ability to view them in any browser. These html images can also be embedded into reporting systems allowing users to visually document their deployments.
